The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a national insurance scheme and a completely new way of supporting people with a permanent disability. The NDIS has changed the way that disability services are delivered and enabled people to choose their services and how they want them delivered.
The NDIS has been progressively rolling out across Queensland and Victoria. People who are currently receiving support through the Commonwealth and State governments will be changing over to the NDIS at varying times, depending on the sort of support they are receiving and where they live.
The aim of the NDIS is to support people with significant and permanent disability and to consider the circumstances of families and carers, as well as the person with disability. To access the NDIS people with a disability will need to meet the following criteria:
If you are aged 65 years and over you will not be eligible for the NDIS. In most cases, you will receive support through the Commonwealth aged care system.
If you have not yet transitioned to the NDIS, call us on 0424 989 656 to discuss your eligibility. As a registered provider of NDIS support, Angelic Home and Care Services can help you develop your goals to ensure a smooth transition.
